That's terrible!

I'm suprized the judge even considered it, this just shows how crap the US legal system is, and it's why I would've spent the money on emigrating.

Canada! Oh Canada!...
The RIAA sueing people is very ineffective. Of the several million people who do download illegally they sue what? 3, 4, 5 people per year? And these, lets be generous, 6 people, they use highly illegal (and strangly ineffective) methods to catch them.

It's far more easier to sue normal people that will be scared shitless and pay up, rather than going after 0-day crues like h8me (that do their very best not to be traced) or P2P companies (like Limewire).

I thought that they did go after Limewire? It's realativly easy to go after a centralised p2p network. Unless there server and webhosting is in somewhere that allows a centralised p2p network. Which is none to my knowledge. Torrents on the other hand...

I suppose so, if you want it could be appended to the other one for the sake of tidiness.

Or, since it's the lounge, we could tell jokes and go waaaaay off topic.

I used Acrobat Distiller for the first time today.  What a neat program!  It was only the version from Acrobat 5, so it has probably been upgraded since then.  Very useful for mapping, because it lets you make PDFs that are larger than page size, but really small on disk.  Illustrator 10 only lets you do page-size PDFs.  All of this was in Windows, by the way, so it took for-fucking-ever.

Dude ... you do realize that you can do the same thing with OpenOffice for free and probobly 10x faster (assuming you're running it on Linux) ... I just made a 20" by 20" square PDF just now for example ... the tricky part ... printing it out :)

Methinks I forgot to mention that this was an EPS file that I made a big PDF out of.  I think OO would cough and die if I handed it an 85MB EPS file.
