Microsoft Origami Device
« on: 27 February 2006, 04:22 »
Gadget Exposed Article:
http://www.windowsfordevices.com/news/NS3892903455.html.

"Microsoft's mysterious Origami project appears to be a handheld multi-function wireless tablet, somewhat larger than -- but conceptually similar to -- the recently introduced Linux-based Nokia 770, a flash presentation on the website of the company behind Microsoft's Origami project website suggests."

"There are also hints that the device may offer VoIP phoning and Portable Media Center capabilities, as well."

Not out yet, but seems to be getting some "hype" none-the-less, even if it's just from a niche crowd. The official website of the product contains a flash, and a "change your life" message. Only direct competition this thing seems to have is from Nokia (http://www.linuxdevices.com/articles/AT5858395674.html).

Official site:
http://www.origamiproject.com/.

It will be interesting to see which device comes out on top at the end, and more importantly, if anyone cares (it should be noted that these sort of devices seem to be gaining in popularity).

I'm guessing it's just more vaporware. MS just wants to make others lose money, especially if it has anything to do with the OS.
