Genuine Advantage Validation

(1/1)

Angelfish_Solo:
It loks like Micr0$oft have updated their Genuine ripoff (sorry advantage) validation Tool again within the last few days. The old fix, disabling the plugin in IE Explorere doesn't work. But I seem to have found a fix. I downloaded the prog ref'ed here
http://www.brothersoft.com/security/miscellaneous/pe_explorer_637.html, a perfectly legal bit of software and opened up the newly installed .dll c:/windows/system32/legitcontrolcheck.dll. I went into the "section headers" option uder view and deleted the second object then saved the file back under the same name. I was expecting to be asked to re-download the tool, but lo anbd behold it worked. My first ever personally identified c**k.

Of course I'm sure all of you who use it, have legit copies of Windows XP, but I thought I'd share this discovery with you

The need for a fix in form of a patch to get around the validation is old.
