haha I remember something like this back in the Win9x days where you get guns and shit and shoot up your desktop... (but the colors were only 16-bit)

16-bit as in high colour, 65536 colours or 16 colour which is 4-bit?

Just asking out of interest because lots of people confuse this.

Nahh, there is a 256 color mode in windows. Then 16 bit, then 24 bit.
Windows XP Service Pack 2. Because we couldn't be arsed the first time.

Not really, if you threw out your videocard drivers in Windows 95, you also had the option to do 2 or 16 colours.

And the earlier versions of Windows didn't even support any more than 16 colours - Windows 1.0 certainly didn't.
