Slashdot ALWAYS has a good anti-MS flame going... I think it'd be better to label it a bushfire...

The animated character is still there in Office 2003. It's fun to activate it on workstations when a user is leaving to get coffee :D

Funny how M$ reverses the truth :D

But actually it's a very useful strategy for the slow of mind ... after all, how can you contradict someone by saying:

Bob ~ "M$ Office is 10 years behind OpenOffice"
Bill ~ "No, OpenOffice is 10 years behind M$ Office"
Bob ~ "You're worng"
Bill ~ "No, you're wrong"
......

The only way to solve this dispute is get to the facts, assuming the opposing party understands them ... and/or doesn't choke on their own drool while pondering them.

Maybe open source developers don't want to force people into things. I use OO and firefox, I use Thunderbird, but I don't have to.
Windows XP Service Pack 2. Because we couldn't be arsed the first time.

Windows 98 Second Edition. Look, now you don't need that bloody CD to install new hardware.

Windows Vista. Even your computer knows you have a small penis.

Windows Blackcomb. We are planning the OS after Vista, which is allready a year late.

Windows ME, the Marmite Operating System.

XP Mobile. Take your errors with you.

Maybe Microsoft thinks that if they put their fingers in their ears, and scream "I KNOW YOU ARE, BUT WHAT AM I?" the problem will just go away.

It's funny how in Microsoft's own R&D department they have more machines running Linux than Windows yet they refuse to acknowledge the strides that OSS has made. Hell their lead researcher is an old Redhat sellout.
