GPLv3's anti-DRM provisions alone cannot stop TC.  Only you can do that, by refusing to purchase hardware which includes TC functionality.  But GPLv3 can help Free Software authors resist the TC and DRM system by refusing to be a part of it.  And together, we can build a world where everyone is truly free of DRM.  So, if you think that anti-DRM provisions aren't necessary, read up on Treacherous Computing.

Linux will support DRM and will continue to use GPL 2.

Well then I suppose there's nothing holding me back from buying a PS3.

Dude... it's Sony... the people who  willfully infected thousands of computers with rootkits.... the people who put self-destruct sequences in the blu-ray player specs (note the PS3 has a blu-ray player).... the people who patented a method to make sure you could play a game on only the first console you play it on.....

Oh wait I get it... you are joking :)

I believe I've been saying this for a while.  Too bad most of the people I talk to are more concerned with shiny "1337 processing powerz y0" than their rights under Fair Use doctrine.

If you haven't bought it yet BUY IT!!!!

Hell, buy it all, stop wearing Nike shirts and put on the GNU, bitches. The only way to help is to get THE NAME OUT! Forums are great but in the end they're still ONLY TALK... I'm wearing a GNU/Tux Hoodie of my own design right now.... SIGH I only wish we had a GNU smilie it would be so fitting.

I asked for one before:

but the admin (Refalm) simply doesn't want it.

Yep, I've done that. No time to read it right now (gotta learn me French verbs), and alot of the articles I've already read.

Would still be good to have the physical book. Not only because it'd be contributing to the GNU project, but it would be cool to have in my room. And to show/lend/explain it to people. It's the kinda book lots of people would be slightly interested in.

Yeah you could but that doesn't help ANYONE and the book itself, besides being a great read on a bus or in your dining room, is an excellent conversation piece. Every once in a while you find someone to talk to about it. I talk about it all of the time.

Oh yeah how about THIS for a GNU smilie?
