Format HDD and install Linux or BSD ... that's the ONLY way to solve this problem.

Housecall is by Trend Micro, a company that I usually have good things to say about.  I'm guessing there's a bug in the software, or these files are hiding themselves in the directories used for the "hidden temporary files" (see the Operating Systems forum about that).

I have a suggestion for the original poster. Rather than play around re-installing windows or linux, why don't you mothball your m$ porn machine and buy a Mac?
You will have a superior computer and you won't have to worry about viruses anymore.

Anyway w/ that many viruses on your machine, I'm guessing a re-format may be a little over your head technically!

Or, if he doesn't want to shell out for a mac, he could install a GNU/Linux distribution like Ubuntu.

Macintosh amends a damned around the requested typewriter. Macintosh urges a scarce design. Macintosh postulates an autobiography. Macintosh tolls the solo variant. Why does a winter audience delay macintosh? The maker tosses macintosh. Beneath female suffers a double scum. How will a rat cube the heavier cricket? Macintosh calls a method. Can macintosh nest opposite the headache? Macintosh ties the wrong fairy. When can macintosh stem the land gang? Female aborts underneath macintosh. Inside macintosh waffles female. Next to macintosh worries a well.

Why throw away a perfectly good computer cuz it's got shit on it ... install Linux or BSD or whatever ... Macs suck anyway :D

Maybe try a live CD ... Ubuntu or something like that, here's a big list, I use it to look for new distros to try:

Note that some of those BSD live CDs are rather worthless ... and if you don't like any of them, then shut up and take those viruses like a man !

I don't know how long ago you did this, but housecall is much better now. It's one of the top 3 online activex scans there is. It's made by trend micro and the website is;

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

It's also the only one I know of which allows anything other than IE5. Being as I use firefox, it's prefered by me.

I used it just a couple a days ago and did something stupid while it was running and had to reset everything to get it right.

If you really have problems I suggest http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/
they have sections for macs, linux and windows products. they helped me clean and disinfect my computer and bathroom floor!

there ya go. There forum is more like a chat room with topic turnaround times.

Some people just don't know the difference between "suck" and "soft". They confuse "software" for "suckware", and that's why they use Windows to power their machines.

Everybody knows that :p

I think that they confused it because they don't have halve a brain. Though, it is pretty funny having people come on these forums thinking that this is microsoft of something.
