Need 9.0.4 for Sheepshaver

(1/1)

bedouin:
So I received my black MacBook over a week ago and have been very happy with it.  I lost a significant amount of money on my only months old PowerBook in the transition, but that's how it goes.

I have a few classic-capable machines at home but I'd like to be able to run classic while on the go for a couple apps; that requires Sheepshaver.  I have 9.2.2 install discs from my PowerMac, but Sheepshaver requires 9.0.4 or less -- so I could work with any 9.0.x install discs I suppose.

Can anyone help me out?  Since I already own 9.2.2 I don't really consider this warezing, and it's in the gray area of abandonware as it is (Apple doesn't even let you buy OS 9 anymore, much less a pre-9.2.2 version).

worker201:
Even if it is abandonware, it is still illegal.  This forum could get shut down for a trade of an item that is many years old and completely unsupported.  Sucks, don't it?  I wonder how much of OS9 is still in OSX?  Is it really enough for Apple to bother enforcing its copyright?

piratePenguin:
I wonder what would happen if you asked Apple...

WMD:
There's some places that'll still sell you OS 9.  I can't recall where exactly (argh!) but it was selling for $20.  It didn't say which version of 9 exactly, though.

piratePenguin:
If you can't find someone to help you out, there's some going on ebay.
Not sure if they'll ship it out to New Babylon though ;)
