Booyah. That's exactly what I've always said. Nobody can actually HEAR the difference.

it also depends heavily, regardless of the format, on the quality of the source file anyway. If you download porch monkey orgy off of edonkey and find it sounds crap...well maybe it's not the file type or the music at all, maybe it's just a shit recording.

I have to agree though. My hearing may not be what it once was...explosions do that to ears. But, I haven't noticed any differencein sound quality between ogg and mp3. At the end of the day, I want to groove to some hugechoons, not nitpick the quality of it because it doesn't sound like I'm standing in a soundbooth at a studio.

Let's get back on topic and bash Microsoft Zune and how shittay it will be.

I think they'll sell 8 of them before people realize that it's just a collection of hairs off a dead chimp's butt inside of a case that was designed to be a bad ripoff of the iPod.

See, that's the real problem with all the not iPods. They're exactly that. They all look like they kinda try to be, but they're not iPods. They're just cheap ripoffs. Anything by Creative or dell especially, as they all look crap. I mean, SERIOUSLY, they're too pussy to put a wheel on it. Why?

PC guy designer: Apple has a wheel, and Apple sux. I bet they're going out of business.
PC guy designer 2: Yeah! I heard that the new iMac doesn't have serial ports!
PC guy designer: OMG how can I attatch my serial dot-matrix printer from 1983?!?
PC guy designer 2: Or how will I use my Logitech serial mouse?!?
PC guy designer: Yeah, oh and Macs are only good for graphics.
PC guy designer 2: I know! But Photoshop runs better on Microsoft Windows XP(TM).
PC guy designer: So, tiny rocker control that will break the second day you have it?
PC guy designer 2: Yeah! That's not a SHITTY TOUCH SENSITIVE WHEEL!

Oh yeah, and don't forget about the fact that the not iPods play WMA, and won't play AAC from iTunes. Why the FUCK would you give a shit about a player that won't play iTunes tracks?

I'm not done.

I thought I'd dis on the wannabes some more. Nothing sucks balls more than an iPod ripoff that plays WMAs... NOTHING! Except maybe the design of the case they're in!

Would you use that POS? I wouldn't. Why? IT'S SHIT. Look at the controls. Instead of something that's well thought out, it's an array of buttons that rivals only industrial equipment in complexity. And look at the menu on the little screen. It's a RIPOFF of the iPod software. It's also made by Dell, the epitome of uncool, dweeby junk.

Now, let's look at what Zune is going to be.

Xbox. That's what it'll be. Xbox was the world's most expensive space heater ever, prone to failure and shitty errors and things. Everybody hates Xbox because it's junky. Why would Zune be any different? IT WON'T. It'll be garbage the same way that Xbox is garbage. Zune is doublefucked since all the other MP3 players suck balls, too. The software is always crazappy, and for some reason only ever sounds good playing (c)rap music, since that's the only thing that doesn't sound like aural feces in WMA format. Oh yeah. Rap sucks ass. Last thing I want is some whigger to be standing next to me with his Dell DJ Ditty doing his shitty Eminem impression. I don't want to have to break his legs, arms, feet, hands and ribs. It would really take too much time out of my day.

Finally... I hate the other MP3 players. That's reason enough for you to hate them, too.

If that Dell thing costs less than an ipod, I'd probably buy it faster.

I wish I could get you a picture of my old 256 Mb player. It was just a block with buttons and a screen. And do you know what? It worked.

And when it comes to buying a player, think I give a fuck if it's a ripoff of an ipod? If I like ipods then that's a good thing.

ps: the creative zen I used wasn't too bad. Too bad it's about as pricey as the ipods..

I dunno... personally, I'm willing to pay more for quality, and quality to me requires some thought be put into the device. While I'm sure that your old player worked fine, and while I'm sure it was cheaper, what's it matter?

That's the problem, really. People are far too quick to say something is good enough when it isn't.

LMAO

Actually, the iTunes format is starting to piss me off.  It was cool to buy a song, I don't mind that.  But having to revalidate it all the time is a pain in the ass.  Thanks to reinstalls and whatnot, I've managed to use 4 of my 5 validations.  What happens then?  I have to pay another 99 cents?  Fuck that.

De-authorize your computer before you have to reinstall. If you're not able to, and something goes south, log into iTunes and deauthorize all computers. This will free up all 5 validations, to be used over again however you see fit. A short while back, I had to do this twice in as many months. The rule says you can only do it once a year, but their tech support went ahead and did it for me when I explained that I'd had a hardware failure that left me unable to deauthorize.
