Java rollback ?
« on: 28 July 2006, 20:42 »
A while ago I downloaded and installed Java Version 5.0 Update 7
But if you check their site they now only offer Version 5.0 Update 6 !

http://java.com/en/download/linux_manual.jsp

Major bug, perhaps?

Weird, but you can still get it here:

https://sdlc2b.sun.com/ECom/EComActionServlet/DownloadPage:~:com.sun.sunit.sdlc.content.DownloadPageInfo;jsessionid=5376A76A83A672E5EE5E211A132BF4A0;jsessionid=5376A76A83A672E5EE5E211A132BF4A0

If it's a bug maybe it will be pulled down there too. Or maybe the java site glitched. It's weird.

I actually e-mailed them some time back and never got an answer. And now Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 8 is out. There was probably some bug with Update 7 that made them go back to 6 until 8 came out. Just in case you cared to know, or you're really bored.

Why wouldn't you get your java from the sun website..afterall, they are the creators!!!!

I get my Java from Seattles best or Starbucks personally.

If I want Java, I hop on a plane to Java.  I'm a jetsetter.
