Go to work anyways. Bring in a laptop and do your work on that, say it's a protest against tyrannical capitalists.

If there can be a day supporting gays where the protesters say nothing, there can be a day where noone uses Microsoft.

Boycotting Vista the day it comes out will accomplish nothing. Very few people will buy it on the first day, anyways, and us boycotting it would do nothing.

It would actually hurt us, because we'd be unable to accurately critique it. All our knowledge would be based on second- or third-hand accounts.

I'm not getting Vista at all, anyways.

Wait a second, you circular-logic dumbass.  You don't want to diss Vista on release day because you won't have had accurate time to try it out.  And yet you're not planning to try it out!  That's retarded.  I see two possibilities here:

1. If you aren't planning on using Vista for personal/political/philosophical reasons, that's what you tell people - the actual details of the product are insignificant.

2. If you aren't planning on using it because it sucks, well how the fuck do you know?

I think your whole plan needs to be reconsidered.

So you're saying we don't have enough dirt on Vi$ta to put it down on release day ? I don't think that's the point ... the point is to spread free OSs to all, or at least to get them to try something different (and probably a whole lot better) than M$ Window$ and Vi$ta. Handing out some CDs of an easy to use, stable, usable distro is the perfect plan, I think.

Actually, handing out free Ubuntu cds on Vista release day is just about the most productive idea that has ever been suggested on this forum.

I can't do that because our striuct security policy won't allow me to do that.

I'm going to be at a Vista "Anti-Release Party" with my old Macs, showing them off to people who don't know jack about where computers came from.

I think it'll be a big eye-opener for a lot of these dullards to see OMG LOOK-A-DAT ITS TEH WINDOZE!!!!1 on a 128K machine with an 8MHz processor.

Fuck teh Vista.
Go the fuck ~
