well i heard that realnetworks' stuff was all spyware, but i think it's all just lists of what you listen to so they can target you to buy certain cds et c. also, if you have a firewall that blocks outgoing messages from realplayer, it still works fine without sending the messages. and anyway, it's not Microsoft so it isn't really appropriate here, but since you ast!

i'm sure there's something in these bulletin boards by somebody about winXP and its error reports being v dodgy re: logging and spyware et c. but i can't think who it was or where they said it. PS, i use zonealarm to stop realplayer sending stuff off into the ether. it works fine and it's free. for personal use that is.
