How do I uninstall IPX support in Win98SE?

(1/1)

Kaitlyn:
I used to use IPX in my Intranet but since decided I don't want to use it anymore.  I already removed everything related to IPX in the Network Control Panel.  Now when I boot I get a dialog saying The Netware-compatible shell is not available.  Well duh, I want it uninstalled.  How do I make that dialog not show up anymore?

Check these:

[windows] <-- WIN.INI
load=
run=

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

[windows] <-- WIN.INI
load= ** It only starts my Sidekick for Windows
run= ** Mine is blank

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

#2 doesn't exist on my system.  In the others I can't find anything I can associate with IPX.  I also searched the registry for the string "IPX" and found nothing promising.  I got something that seems to be associated with Direct X.
