pretty f*ckin weird!!!!
« on: 17 September 2002, 07:02 »
im not sure if anyone else has experienced this but it really makes me wonder.
i was deleting some files in ms-dos (ex: the index.dat file) in the cookies folder. well anyway, i restarted in windows (xp), and realized i forgot to delete a file. well when i restarted back into Dos it starts up at the A:\ prompt becuase im using a boot disk. When i tried to change to the C:\ directory, it changed for a second and then went right back to the A:\ directory. i decided to restart in ms-dos again, and yet i still had the same problem. anyone ever hear or this or know how to fix this b*llshit?

I dont think DOS can read NTFS partitions without some third party drivers or something.

(sigh)

look, what did you actually type? if you type "cd *:" where * is the name of the drive, it will not work. try typing just "*:" where * is the name of the drive to change to, and it should be fine.

and get linux as well, you'll save yerself a lot of hassle that way if you really want to eliminate the spyware...  ;)

You might have better luck using: "chdir" sometimes it doesn't like the simple CD command.

...but I'm starting to forget these things...  :D
*meow!* I didn't say Linux was easier, I said it was better, Dumbass!

i know i know Linux is better, i did already try chdir and cd, neither work. but i will try the other suggestion from whoever that was. I would use Linux, but i've said this in other posts im in graphic design, so i need to use OS that support the software i have to use.

Ok, you've been through enough. Before you type the "CD" command type "C:".

Did I forget to mention that typing "C:" before typing "CD" might help?
