gtk-gnutella ./configure just told me this...

I can use /usr/bin/nm to extract the symbols from your C libraries. This
is a time consuming task which may generate huge output on the disk (up
to 3 megabytes) but that should make the symbols extraction faster. The
alternative is to skip the 'nm' extraction part and to compile a small
test program instead to determine whether each symbol is present. If
you have a fast C compiler and/or if your 'nm' output cannot be parsed,
this may be the best solution.

Yeah, I didn't know when gtk-gnuella was first out that 3MB was big even. I think the devs are just retarded, or maybe its a recycled configure script.

begging to write.  Hugely sarcastic.  Meaning that even though lots of people do coding and development for autoconf and gtk-gnutella, nobody wants to bother about the documentation.  It's considered both boring and unnecessary (because the user should be as skilled as the programmer, and if he's not, then he's not good enough to use the software).

Indeed that problem encompasses much of Linux and is the plague when trying to get it on the market like Windows. I rather like Window's documentation, sometimes the "Help" isn't great though but the Microsoft website will always go into further details. Really they need to do some real commercial research for Linux: test what features people most commonly need help for, and write appropriate help and keep it in a single place. Of course, that needs CASH MONEY.
