Refalm:
EDIT: LOL Mac users humour.
Ex-Microsoft employee remembers the last sound he heard at Microsoft: Bing!

That Ballmer monkey is still seriously fucked up.

Also, you can be fired just like that in the US?

worker201:
I'm sure it's a fake.

And yes, you can be fired for anything at any time.  In certain professions, anyway.  Doctors, lawyers, and teachers, for example, have been organized into professional organizations for over 100 years, and it's actually pretty hard to fire them.  Union workers can't be fired on a whim either.  Government employees can be fired, but it's really hard, because the govt has a responsibility to keep people working.  But low-level people working for a corporation?  Yeah, Ballmer could theoretically fire one for not being excited about the name of the new search engine.

Aloone_Jonez:
I don't believe it either.

The part about Balmer shouting Bing sounds believable but the employee being fired for not does not, may be it was joked about but taken seriously.

Refalm:
It's funny how Microsoft is artificially is trying to make Bing a buzzword, while Google doesn't like its brand name to be used as a verb (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_%28verb%29).

Let's compare:
"I Googled my girlfriend yesterday." "Yeah, I did that too. Just out of curiosity of course." "Of course."

"I Binged my girlfriend yesterday." "Dude really, we're not in high school anymore... what you do with her is your own business."

Aloone_Jonez:
Googling for my girlfriend probably brings up porn anyway.

I wonder if Googling is on Microsoft's email bad word filter?

Using that word around Baller might get you into trouble. Well if I ever meet him I'll have to remember to slip it into the conversation.
