I Need Approximately 100 5.25" Disk Sleeves
« on: 3 April 2010, 12:44 »
I've tried everywhere: eBay, Craigslist, Freecycle, hours of Googling -- but cannot find these.

I have a sampler that uses a Commodore 1541-II disk drive for its main storage.  I bought 100, brand new, DS/DD floppies from floppydisk.com but they didn't come with sleeves.  I'm thinking maybe someone here (who like me collects old hardware) might have some around.

Yes, I would be willing to pay.

I did too in the beginning.  Imagine, the Commodore Serial Bus actually feeling speedy after using a datasette for like a year.

Perhaps instead of sleeves you can use one of those large plastic clamshell type cases?

I have a case; they're generally safe.  I just would feel better with sleeves.

you could make your own with paper... i once found a great guide to make sleeves for regular cds, of course its going to be flimsyish but might be a fine job!

a poem by my computer, Macintosh Vigilante
Macintosh amends a damned around the requested typewriter. Macintosh urges a scarce design. Macintosh postulates an autobiography. Macintosh tolls the solo variant. Why does a winter audience delay macintosh? The maker tosses macintosh. Beneath female suffers a double scum. How will a rat cube the heavier cricket? Macintosh calls a method. Can macintosh nest opposite the headache? Macintosh ties the wrong fairy. When can macintosh stem the land gang? Female aborts underneath macintosh. Inside macintosh waffles female. Next to macintosh worries a well.

Today I bought 120 off eBay.  They're an interesting vinyl sleeve from the 80s I bought from an all-Atari store.  This will last me for a little while.

I have a bunch of working 5.25" blank disks, never used, in a case. Probably about ten.
