Microsoft Obituary

With each new release of Windows, MS has not addressed the legacy of its prior releases.

Instead of adopting a "live and let live" approach, they have instead chosen a strategy of forcing users to migrate to the latest version.

Which is exactly why I installed Linux on my desktop.

I cannot afford to buy a new OS every 1.5 years which requires me to upgrade my hardware to maintain the same level of function.

The real question is how long will the hardware manufacturers remain slaves to MS?

From modems to Intel to Dell, they fear the MS pressure to conform to the MS view of the world.

The message is clear, if you support Linux, you will no longer get MS support....

Is that really what free competition is about?

I used to think that in America, we were free to do what we liked...but in the MS world, you must conform to what MS likes or be forever ostracized because MS does not make any money on the transaction.

Is that really what America stands for?

The funny thing is that if MS ever wakes up, they would soon realize they could make more money cooperating with the Linux community than trying to circumvent the free market system.

That's ok, I have never heard of anyone who has actually gotten support from Microsoft anyway. There have been a few that have tried, none that have succeeded.
Someone please remove this account. Thanks...

I realize that a lot of poor windows user may be left out in the cold, so I will try to help...

I may be breaking a lot of copyright laws, but I acquired the M$ tech support manual, and I will post it here:

1) Instruct caller to try uninstalling the problematic software, and reinstall it.

2) Request that the caller reboot 2 or 3 times.

3) Offer the caller a discount for the current upgrade.
*meow!* I didn't say Linux was easier, I said it was better, Dumbass!

If they do not go along with M$'s licencing terms, M$ will severely raise the price of Windoze on them, and that will force them to sell their computers for alot more than they do now.  With the competition among computer makers, a significant price increase would harm business alot.  They would be able to sell comps with other OSes for a much reduced price, but would have alot of trouble selling machines with windows.  They would have a very hard time making a profit without selling machines with windows.  So, until there is much more demand for Linux, the slavery continues.

Nowadays, yes.  Today America seems to stand for big uber rich people fucking over everyone else.

Ok I was wondering, why does intel care? Aren't intel and MS partners in crime? Or is Intel like the enslaved demon who secretly plans on overthrowing his human master one day?

Isn't AMD susposed to be MS's bitch also?
