IMHO this proves that obviously people are concerned about their security, but aren't willing to open their eyes and/or ears to any in-depth information about computer network security, and I just fail to see the logic in that...

You're in luck, there's a very simple fix that anyone can use. Just go here, scroll down, choose a language, pick a platform, and take your pick of any operating system you want.

It isn't necesarrily reasonable to expect every 60 year old grandman who wants to put up an angel page or every 12 year old boy who wants to play Warcraft to download and install linux.

Point the newbies to Mac instead.
