C:\recycler on xp, um, why?
infinate_pie:
try C:\recycler on xp, i dont know if it works on 98, but using dir /s/as in command you can look up anyones recycle bin
Refalm:
It's "C:\Recycled" or "/mnt/windows/Recycled/" in Mandrake.
infinate_pie:
i dont know, i just wondered why it wasn't user specific, and so easy to access
hm_murdock:
the concept and the design for the Recycle Bin is lifted straight from the classic Mac OS's Trash.
Mac OS's Trash has a hidden folder on the hard drive called... "Trash". It's not just hidden, it's one of a few folders that is fully inaccessable using the Finder.
MS tried to do this, but you can't fully hide any file in Windows, because too many dorks care about hidden folders and files. Shit that they shouldn't ever mess with.
But yeah, where did you think it was at?
infinate_pie:
just wondered, thought it was strange that microsoft wouldn't put recyle bins in the same area as the user area, and its stuff like that that makes it oh so much easier for spywarr, etc to take a hold
