Hi, nice site.
Ok, so you are not supposed to be able to buy OEM Microsoft software unless it comes with new hardware, but yet it is so easy to buy and have you noticed that Microsoft does little to prevent it from happening?
I was thinking about this and realized that it is exactly what Microsoft wants. They want people to easily buy OEM software by the truckload.
The OEM software sounds better becasue it is cheaper, but most people probably do no realize that they get no support and they are technically using it illegally. How much better could it get for Microsoft? They still make money and save tons of money on top of that becaue they provide no support. Their profit margins on OEM software is probably greater than the retail supported product.
On top of all this, they might get lucky and run across a big company or government institution that was unfortunate enough to buy a bunch of OEM softare and they can make them pay again! It could happen, since they make it so easy buy.
There are dozens and dozens of companies advertising the OEM sofware and they are showing pictures of retail boxed product and some of them do not indicate that it is OEM software. It is easy for Microsoft to find them... but do they? No! It is just the way they like it!
Think about it... you have millions of copies of bought and paid for software that you have totally no responsibilites for. On top of that, most of the people still owe you money for a legitimate license.
That is just plain Evil.
