Never been on a site before where the moderator tries to make everyone go away!!!!  :D    :D

Further aspect to my original question, I use an accounting package which uses a Progress database - it's been a real bu**er even under *indows (because it's DOS based) - will that have to die if I change?

Searched the whole, wide, world on the internut, but no answer  :D    :D

There's a thing called OpenOffice that does all M$ Office does for free. And for Macs too.
www.openoffice.org

Macs are better, more stable, and hold their value ten times better. And face it, they are just plain sexy   :D

You missed my point. The man already has a x86 box, so why not install linux for free. Even if he did get openoffice for a mac, he'd still have to buy a $1000 mac.

Lets face it, Linux is better, more stable, and holds its value 1000% more. Oh, and linux is sexy too.
