windows 98 autorun oddness
« on: 7 February 2003, 05:59 »
One of the computers at my house has 98 on it. Someone wasn't thinking and copied the cd contents directly to the root of C:. Apparently if you have an AUTORUN.INF on any drive in windows 98 (possibly only second edition, may extend to windows me) you can specify and icon and program (if drive clicked) for that drive to use. I figured this out when I tried to open C: and was presented with an installation screen. I don't know if other's already knew about this, but even if so, it's kinda strange (it works on Disks too    ).

Seems like a good way to setup a network install.
