another interesting tidbit. We (The Company I work for) were removing windows ME from their machines about a month ago but the fact was we had to leave the machines removeing me cause it was gonna take a long time for the uninstall process to restore files and what not, and guess what? the uninstall process is still running?
WHAT THE FUCK?! a whole freaking month and Windows ME is still uninstalling, a stroke a genius...

Why in the fuck did a company install Windows ME on thier computer anyways? Windows ME is total crap(even worse than the other Win9x OSes). They should've installed Windows 2000 Professional on thier systems.

Easy way to uninstall Windows ME. Boot to DOS off of a DOS Floppy or a Windows 98/98SE CD
and run "SMARTDRV C+ 4096" then format the drive or run deltree and delete the Progra~1, Windows and Restore directories and remove the IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS and COMMAND.COM files from the root (C:\) directory. After you remove all of the Windows files(or format the drive) restart the comp and boot off of the nice shiney Windows 2000 Professional CD(Or Windows 98 if you must) and do a fresh install of the OS.

(EDIT)I don't think that machine is still uninstalling Windows ME, I think the machine locked up during the uninstallation and it has been left running in a locked up state. If that is the case you all will be lucky if something didn't get damaged in the system from letting it run for a month locked up(EDIT)

I agree totally! still, anybody can see why they wanted to uninstall it! to uninstall winME properly, my suggestion would be to make a bunch of DOS boot floppies (which you can do from "Add/Remove Programs", then in windowsME, put all the documents you want to keep in "C:\My Documents", and EVERYTHING ELSE in "C:\WINDOWS", then reboot to DOS using the floppies and type "C:" to change to the hard drive, then "DELTREE WINDOWS". It is the simplest thing you've ever heard, but that is the only way i have found to uninstall windows ME, and it works fine.

i used to think FOX had some funny (stupid kinda funny) shows, but this out does them all.
