Hi...i just came across this site and agree about the whole microsoft thing! Im going to give an alternative OS a try.

What do you recommend??? I have a upto-date comp (XP1500), RAD8500 etc but am after stability and compatiballity mainly as i use my comp for work as well as games...(im a big gamer!).
The one that i am keen on is RedHat Linux.

So come on guys...which one ????

Thanks in advance

Doosht

P.S Just for info..im using win98SE at the moment.

why not try one out and see if you like it?
you are about the umpty tumpth person who has asked this exact same thing, why not read through the forums and see what other people have said?

Maybe you could try Linux Mandrake Gaming Edition-its designed for playing games designed for windows comps, it even comes with everyones favorite game  ;)  "The Sims"!  Check some reviews for it first-thats all I know about it  :(

Master of Reality:
if ya got a huge hard drive, partition it several times, and get every copy of every OS you can get. Or try linux mandrake/redhat, i have also heard good things about SuSe

Calum:
yup, give freeBSD a try too, it's another free UNIX OS. I haven't tried it, but you might as well have a multiple boot thing going on between a few different OSs,
