for windows advocates...

How is it that with all the resources available to Microsoft, it took them 4 years to go from NT 4 to NT 5 (Win 2000)? Where the fuck has all that money gone? and Windows XP should've been released in 1998 as the 'convergence of NT/9X'! it's only now that they're boasting about the capabilities of XP which should've been available in 98 (4 fucks sake!)
where has all OUR money gone?

Why you should upgrade to Windows XP
By John Morris & Josh Taylor, ZDNet Reviews & Solutions

No matter how you feel about Microsoft, you'll probably like Windows XP.

You guys are Microsoft shills.
Hey, how much is Gates paying you?
Conflict of interest! Microsoft advertises on ZDNet!

OK, now that we've gotten that out of your systems for you, we can report that despite what you Microsoft haters would like to hear, Windows XP is simply the best OS that the company has come up with to date. Granted, with recent releases like Windows Me, the bar wasn't so high. But with the release of Windows XP, Microsoft has managed to build upon the stability of Windows 2000, while adding a slew of features that home and business users will likely welcome with open arms.

and here's a good review of winXP's online gaming package!

Internet Solitaire

They should have internet Solitaire where one person plays and the other one types in their advice like "Put the red two on the black five! Move the black Queen over the bishop!" That would be cool.

sorry, i keep finding these! Seems windows advocates have a lot of reading to catch up on!
quote:
Several US universities recently were raided by the US Customs service, which has launched an investigation into a multibillion-dollar software piracy ring.
The agency also raided several software and computer companies. Custom officials report that students and executives who are believed to be involved are cooperating, and the information they have supplied has led to others being questioned and seizures of illegal software. The federal investigation, called Operation Buccaneer, is considered to be the largest ever conducted against software pirates. According to Customs officials, more raids are likely, and we at the University of Florida are constantly on the alert waiting for Special Forces Apache attack choppers to appear on the skyline. The university ROTC cadets have been recalled from semester break and are piling sandbags around university IT centers. Customs officials believe that their actions have successfully shut down an international piracy ring called DrinkorDie (a code name expressing why Customs officials believe college students are heavily involved)...

I know that I often come down hard on Microsoft and Bill Gates in this newsletter. Perhaps it's because I have to use that company's products in my daily work. But I still believe you have to give credit where credit is due. Therefore I want to congratulate Bill and his employees on being the very first commercial software company to generate a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) alert that an operating system (Windows XP) is a threat to computer take- over by hackers. Apparently, users don't have to do anything more sophisticated that just being on the Internet for hackers to gain complete control of their systems.
