I honestly don't know, since I haven't used IE since I started surfing the Internet.

http://www.windowsbbs.com might be better help than I could.

You can't really.  Well it depends, there is a way to delete the history and all, but there will still be hidden history files that only Microsoft can access on your computer.  There is special software to remove them, but theres a better way.  IE is no longer the best web browser in the world.  Go to www.mozilla.org or www.opera.com and you can download web browsers for free that are MUCH better than IE, won't spy on you, and can easily do what you have asked.

Click Tools>internet options then click the content tab.
Then press auto complete, uncheck all the boxes and clear passwords and forms.
Also clear the history.

the add on software you can get to stop popups in internet explorer is not wholly effective, since many sites have software to counter the popup blocking software. interestingly, the popup blocking software which is part of the mozilla browser continues to block popups even in the face of this triviality.

my personal favourite browser is phoenix, also from the mozilla people, but it has limited features compared with other browsers mentioned here.

i actually prefer galeon as a browser, but i think it is fiddly to use, and i prefer phoenix, as it requires less pointing and clicking and less precision when doing so. Galeon is totally integrated with gtm though, which i like, and haven't managed to make happen in phoenix.
