to save as a pdf, you must use the print to file option in openoffice, and bob's yer uncle, fanny's yer aunt. openoffice can also be used in macOS, and linux amongst others. also, openoffice is free, and adobe acrobat is expensive.

If you can print it, you can make a PDF with open-source and/or free software.  Here are detailed instructions.

Click File->Print, check the "Print to File" box and select "PDF" as the type.

The only option I get is <All>

Ghostscript and bits from M. O'Brien's link installed etc.

Am I being a bit thick here?

You need to install GhostScript or Distiller (GhostScript is free)

Unfortunately I am trying to get this done on Win 98.

The only option I get is <All>.  If I put .pdf Acrobat won't open it (GS does).

Any help would be great because I am steering a company towards OSS and openoffice.org to PDF will be a very big plus and should push them to try.
