Very Simple Visual Basic Syntax Help Needed
« on: 9 December 2002, 20:38 »
When we insert certain CD into our CD-ROM like Warcraft 3 or Norton Antivirus 2003, there will be an .exe file (the installer with very nice interface) that automatically pops up from the CD. We do not have to go to My Computer icon (at our desktop) and access our CD-ROM drive to find the setup program.

I would like to put something like this in my CD (I have no problems in writing the commands for autorun.inf). I know how to create an .exe file (the automatically pop up installer) in Visual Basic 6.0. However, I have a very very hard time finding the correct Visual Basic syntax for a particular button in Visual Basic. This is what I want the VB program to do:-

Once the user click on a button, this button will run a file call a.txt

Any help will be truly appreciated.

Read The Fucking Manual - Oh it's M$ you don't get proper manuals when you lease their product.

Loopers this if Fuckmicrosoft.com, in case you don't read well.

If you want a 70 lines of code or more excess in every program you write - then use M$ visual basic.

If you want a program that labels you dunce to every educated and knowledgable programmer - then use VB.

If you want to write code that builds backdoors and security holes - accidentally into every program you write - use VB.

If you want to pay a huge amount of money for a program that will be out of use and incompatible three years later - then use VB.

If you want to continually be supporting customers due to another company making you software incompatable - then use VB.

I know of a program that is 2Megs long, that runs on windows and Mac, the latest edition has to be 40MB, to include the Microsoft .net compatability, and adds nothing to the mac, yet will support their latest products, and there is no loss of functionality.
Tough - Adapt or die : Read The Fucking Manual.
