My choice

I've been reading all these great posts here for a long time, even though I haven't been doing a lot of posting. I have a big confession to make, I am using a windows computer. (Pause for effect) I 've been doing something else, and this is even a bigger shock. I'm using MIE5.5 And I've come to a decision. I've realized something. Windows sucks. FUCKMICROSOFT
I've read all these documents on the spyware, and the bugs that are on theses systems. I have access to three computers, one with Win 95 (the one I'm using now) One with win98 and another with win XP. the only difference I have noticed is that the newer it is, the more it costs. They change colors and options every once and a while, but besides that, they are all exactly the same. So as soon as I get a chance, I am going Linux, I think it's great that so many people are working on one OS all at once, constantly improveing it. I saw a copy of MandrakeLinux Linux on the net with gaming. so now it appears that linux can do everything windows can, even better, for less money, less space on my hard drive with only 3 gig, a 166 pentium with mmx. Stuff that windows would need two to three times as much computing power to do. So to hell with windows, I'm finally shutting them, closing the cutains and accepting that penguin as my personal savior.

Afew more issues I have, first XP user, you're not an XP user, I was someone just like you a few months ago, going onto sites and posting bogus shit to irratate the people there. It's fun sometimes, and I really hope that the other people here can catch on that it is just a joke. You said you were looking for some stuff against Linux. I found a something like that, it says that the Linux users are like the borg, assimilating technology, using it for world domination. The bullshit is all pretty funny, but they were biased to windows. No real info of that sort exists about Linux, sorry

One question before I finish my post, Is there any spywhere like the stuff found on windows on linux? I'd like to know.

I once went to Tom Cat to ask the very same question last November. According to "Tom Cat", as well as Steve Gibson, there has not as of yet been any case of Linux spyware. Of course, that's understandable since most Linux apps are Open Source, so spyware can't hide in there. So far, no commercial Linux apps seem to have it either.

Although I guess you could always run Bonzi Buddy or Comet Cursor in WINE.   :D

i'm running Windows too, i'm sort of stuck:
-i KNOW that TFC runs on Windows (Wine is a bit of a risk)
-my game servers have some things that only run on Windows servers as well as having compile problems with some of the plugins for Linux and Linux's realtime priority is not as good as the one on Windows
-i'm not sure if my Linux computer will even exist in a week because my dad totaly hates the video lag (ATI drivers have no support so the video lag is intense)
-this windows computer is MY computer, i control what is on it, i control who f***s with it and i control what is deleted. i can't exactly say that about my Linux computer
-my Linux machine just HATES Perl for some reason but it loves PHP
-MySQL gives me an error when i attempt to start it but MySQL works fine in Windows (although you don't even REQUIRE a password to start creating new databases  :( )
-updating my website on the Windows Apache server is as easy as opening the page in DreamWeaver, changing and saving it. on Linux i have to change it with DreamWeaver on Windows then put it in my FTP folder then go on Linux computer and download it (i can't manage to run an FTP server on Linux because it's super hard)
-the windows server don't always bark at me about access to that stuff.....on the other hand i have to backup a lot of my files because i'm scared of h4x0rz or viruses

i got legit reasons for using WinXP but if i COULD run the stuff on Linux, i totaly would.

Chooco, for the third time, did my Perl suggestion work for you?
Someone please remove this account. Thanks...
