Way I see it, you've got two options 98 or 2K my friend has 98SE and the drivers work (as long as windows behave itself) although, I have played with 2K and it's stablilty is unbeliveable, I didn't think M$ wanted to make such a highly stable OS, I guess they messed up on 2K..........

also, radeons are very tempermental, they are real high on the compatability list....

I have a Radeon 8500 running in a Win2K box, smooth as silk.
I don't think there are specific drivers for W98, though the drivers for 2K/XP work for 98also.
A friend of mine runs an Ati AIW Radeon on an XP box and it runs stable too (the Radeon, not XP   :D  )
He was sitting on a rock. He was barefoot. His feet were frosty with ice-nine .....

actually i just read a bunch of tests where 98se is compared to 2k in terms of raw graphical power...98se kicks the crap out of 2k so i guess 98se it is!

pariah, all I can say is that you have alot to learn.  Look, using windoze XP is like selling your soul to Bill Gates.  He will monitor everything you do, charge you for it periodically, and sell your life away for money that he dosn't need.  Win2K is the most stable OS for M$.  You seem to think 98SE has better graphical capabilities?  You probably just need to update your drivers.  True there are some games that you will need windoze to play, but they are probably fewer than you think.  For one, many games are coming out for Linux now days.  Two, many that are only available through windoze are available for linux using wine, software designed to make windoze software run on linux.  And these two points are getting stronger and stronger every day.  I have probably wasted my time in writing this, as after reading your previous posts you strike me as someone who won't listen anyways and has already buried himself under a mountain of foolish and inaccurate assumptions.  But we have to try.

ROFLMFAO, you have to use trickery to get people to download Linux? HaHaHa, that is truely pathetic. I don't suggest that anybody even bothers with that site because it tries to install gator(major spyware) onto your system when you visit the damned site. Why does that site try to install gator anyways? Is that some cheap way for them to make money?

I have an original Radeon (VIVO 64 MB DDR) and I have no problem in any version of Windows or Linux. Go here: http://mirror.ati.com/support/driver.html select Windows XP as your OS, and select whichever Radeon you have...I don't know what your specific problem is...so try the latest drivers.

BTW: The site didn't try to install Gator for me. Try using a real browser (Mozilla), and maybe there wouldn't be so much spyware.
