Some form of hotkeys is on...I can't help you much more because I don't know what version of Windows you are using.
Also, are you using any type of internet keyboard with "Internet Keys", or did you have one previously?
You may also want to ask the people at www.windowsbbs.com - they are much better at specfic Windows problems.

As for the general problem, that is Windows itself, I reccomend you try a newbie Linux distro and have Windows and Linux on your computer just to try it out...It can't hurt. If you don't like it, just take it off. For more info on getting started with Linux check out this thread: http://forum.fuckmicrosoft.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=13&t=000057

I recommend:
If you want something more Windows-like, try
Lycoris Desktop/LX - http://www.lycoris.com/

If you want something different try
Mandrake Linux - http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/

If you need any more help, ask anyone or Private Message me.

Have Phun    :D

Hmmm...Illegal I'm assuming, as most users don't have 13k to blow on an OS.

SP1 apparently turns hotkeys off...

That's all I can find.

Apparently you do not have a sense of humor. Since you have a dual boot setup, are the keys also messed up in Linux?  If not then it's a Windows problem. How's that for help?

sorry, my humor quotient is at an all time low.  I just got a job and that is dragging me down.  no it only does that in win so it is a win problem.  didn't mean to lay into you, it's just you know scary to think about the reformat with so much music on the hard drive (from currently trade friendly bands).

Well, judging by your tag line it looks like it might be a local call to Microsoft.
