my discovery of hidden files in XP
« on: 31 July 2003, 13:34 »
Well, as you know I use XP for playing Anarchy Online a MMO, and it wont run on Wine or Winex etc etc etc.  at least not yet.

Anyways, one night I emptied all my  temp stuff, cache, defragged..  adaware, all the  overhaul stuff. and I  decide to run Norton diskwipe on my temporary internet files, on the hunch yuo guys instilled  in me, that  though the folder looked empty, something was lurking perhaps where I couldn't see.

When I ran disk wipe on the folder, it found all sorts of interesting things.  106 of them in total. Though according to Windows, the folder was totally empty.

I saw gifs, and cookies, and numerous html files, and on and on and on...

So, I bring to you this, information, and wonder if you have a logical and  educated response.

Thankyou.

Check out my post on the Really Hidden Files forum for August 4, 2003. It has to do specifically with XP systems.
