tcp and M$twoooook
« on: 12 September 2002, 00:51 »
Hi guys.

My laptop, which dual boots rh7.3 and
that m$ thing that emulates an OS.

a) Running Linux on the laptop - FTP,Samba
etc.etc. goes like greased lightning.
b) Booting it in twoooook - ftp and filecopies
to other m$ emulations - its as fast as is fast
seeing its only some M$ rubbish. But to Linux ,the
MACs or AIX - the bloody thing grinds to a halt
with a max of about 3KB/s (on a 100MB LAN).
Sometimes after rebooting it will suddenly speed
up - grrhngngnn!

Any idea why this M$ shit does this?
I think i read something about it a while ago
but can't remember where!
Its like there is a built in delay loop (like between Gates's ass and Balmer's mouth) whenever
it connects to a non-M$ OS.

TX in advance.
Microsoft apparently thinks that R&D stands for 'Rewrap & Disguise'.

it's a bug in windows that happens on some computer. Try switching the ethernet card to use 10T Base
