I'm not sure if this if the right forum to place this...

But here's my question:

Where can I find a program that converts a GIF animated picture to a MNG animated picture?

The "convert" utility works perfectly for this. It is included with "ImageMagick" (open source). To convert the GIF to MNG just type:

$ convert myimage.gif myimage.mng

I assume you mean ASCII art or HTML art from a GIF. There are some web sites with an online tool that can do that for you. Searching Google for "GIF to ASCII" turned up this link at the top of the list:

just an aside, and i hope i don't sound rude, but programme is not the correct spelling here.

programme is the word for a scheduled series of events, and this includes a radio or a television programme, or a programme that you might buy when going to the theatre or to a football match.

program is the word for a computer program.

not sure why this is, but i think it's something to do with that good old 'US English' thing again!

We (US) use "program" for both because we're not smart enough to be able to use too many different words. We get confused easily.

Okay then voidmain

I want a program that can decompile the Windows source code to the manner that it was before compile

oh wait there already is that...
$cat /dev/urandom > /usr/src/windows/windows-source.c

But I need a program that can decompile urm Sun Solaris Kernel to the way it was before compile!

No calum its impossible to do that. When i say "The way it was before compile" i mean /* Source Comments */ and stuff. Which is impossible

it was a joke fergodsssake!

the statement 'you should never talk in absolutes' contradicts its own existence by stating an absolute! my girlfriend said it by accident once and i have never forgotten it!
