Im trying to use LinNieghboUrhood to get into an MS Me computer set up to allow sharing of My documents

anyone know what I need for the username and password

not the obvious but rather wich user name do I use

the windows login passwrd
the network group name
-guest-

what name field in windows matches the user name for LinN--

and why is LinNieghborhood spelled without the -U-

what os are you running? most linux distros support smbfs. if you want it easier than the shell, use konqueror...

smb://machinename

and I think

smb://username@machinename (dont know for sure though)

I never heard of "LinNieghboUrhood", i can't help you with it  :(  sorry

I just did that to spite people

Americans drop the U in alot of words

I guess It was kind of a dumb joke

be that as it may, i still haven't heard of it. i'd try a different method though (i only say that because i haven't used it though)

I happen to use LinNeighborhood and love it. As to which user name to use i just just the default account name. For my windows 2k machine the username everyone uses is my last name. i just enter my last name in as the user and then my pass and it shows them.

Actually, after the American revolution the government decided to officially simplify the spellings of many English words.  "Color" instead of "colour."

We don't drop them... it's part of American English, as opposed to British English.

I don't remember who was in charge of the respelling...
