Linux Quake3 + punkbuster
« on: 21 December 2002, 21:17 »
Ok, I realize this is not a game forum, but since I had some problems lately with playing Q3 online, and I know there are some people here who play the game I'll post this anyway.

A few days ago the Punkbuster people did some updates which made it impossible for me to enable Punkbuster, my cfg told me it was enabled, but I couldn't connect to any PB_enabled server and the option stayed "disabled" in the Multiplayer menu.
I visited tons of forums, tried a ton of fixes, nothing worked.
Until I downloaded a utility to update PB manually and ran it,all was fixed then.

You can find it here

Make sure you save it in /home/yourdir/.q3a/pb otherwise it won't be able to download the patch.
