In Mozilla if you want to ban images from the server that they are being linked to just right click on the image and select "Ban images from this server".

And what makes you think KDE is based on proprietary toolkits? Those toolkits are GPL. At one time QT was not GPL but it has been since September of 2000. That's over two years ago, get with the times...
