Image Preview

Hi everybody,
I am using WinME for 9 months now and i still can't figure this out. I want to get rid of Image Preview (the default program  that opens jpg's), because it can only open one jpg at the time. BUT!! when i make Internet Explorer the default program to open jpg's, (in Folder Options>File Types), I can open more jpg's at once but THEY ALL OPEN IN A SEPERATE WINDOW!!. So if I select e.g 10 jpg,s and press FILE>OPEN, I'll have 10 different windows opened!!  In windows 98 it was possible to e.g. select 10 jpg's, press FILE>OPEN, and all the jpg's would open in ONE explorer window one by one. You could then browse through them with the 'back' button. How do i make Win ME do this? This is the most annoying thing in WinME, please help me!!

Thank you in advance.

i have tried to block from my mind as much about windows as possible. Somewhere in the registry, you change a key or dword value, and it'll fix this. I cant remember where. Look at www.winguides.com under registry

psyjax, this is the all things ,icro$oft - applications forum...

i haven't a clue how to do this, it seems pretty minor to me though, i use 602picture viewer for all my pix in winME, but it does that multiple window thing too.
maybe it's yr copy of IE and not windows...

Sigh.... i guess your right Calum. Thus I must offer my solution.

Netscape and mozilla still feture the same functionality you found pleasing in the eralier IE. At least on my mac though Im sure I have done this in windoze.

Anyway, take a folder full of the images and drop into a new browser window and you will be able to brows thrugh them page like. Or you could type the path, whatever.

And while you're at it, you can turn System Restore off as well:

ok guys thanx,

I found a nice application called Irfanview. It allows me to browse through my pictures by just pressing the spacebar and it has some cool additional features too. I have to say F**K Microsuck for making it not so easy to fix.
Next computer I buy will be a MAC, no doubt about that. Thanks guys.

Find a good image viwer!!! There are thousands of cool free ones.

I use SlowView. It's free and has plenty of cool features such as zoom, full screen, easy keyboard shortcuts...
It comes with a thumbnail browser, a slide show, an a fantastic batch file converter.
It supports thousands of formats.

Just a little haevy for slow computers. But for a freeware it's a must.

You can download it on the net.

try this site or do a research

If you want I can try to find the link.

in the meantime, you could also try the ACDC viewer.
