A way to prove M$ Lame, for non-technical types
Chooco:
my ISP account has spam because my bro can't grasp the concept of a mailing list. "oh email of pictures of R1's, kick ass"
now we get tons of spam because a combo of my bro and dad sign up for every piece of crap out there.

Hotmail is absolutely great. I love it and use it every day, and I get no spam either. The MSN messenger even notifies you when mail is in your inbox.

You are lying through your teeth.
Either that, or you think that your 'friends' are doing you a favor by sending you email with advertisements. How thoughtful!
Christ...that last statement was just a long shot. I vote lying.
Either way, I am proud to have used a Yahoo Mail account for a long time, and have only gotten spam because I use it for mailing lists when people insist I give them an email address. I now use Zelda Classic Email to check my roadrunner account and I have had no problems with it.
And for times I don't feel like using a web browser to check email, I use Opera's internal Mail client. Nice and easy. ^_^

Calum:
i hate all web based email they are all shit. they all get spam or cack up, go slow, then disappear without warning, consigning your messages to the void and forcing you to write to all your friends (again) to tell them your new email address when you finally get another one that looks like it might work. This is after you frantically try to find written/other record of all your friends' email addresses after the current list got trashed when your last email address went down the pan.
Looks like my new account at linuxmail.org, while spamless so far, might crash and burn after only one day. At least my previous one (the despised eboxmail.net) lasted a few weeks before disappearing without trace (the whole server, not just my account), but linuxmail.org has been ludicrously slow, and refusing connections all day now.
Re: yahoo and hotmail, sorry both crap, both full of spam, hotmail has the edge though.
Bigmailbox wins for spam though as it has NO filtering/blocking facilities at all.

i see you must have gotten back into your account Calum.... I will still catch up to you in posts.

I thought hotmail offers you a fubar 256k of space.
Calum, i still want to send you my music, apparently
you didn't get them, because as you said, your emailbox account + server vanished.
Do you already have a (pop) email account ?
I think so many people use hotmail because:
- (Most forecoming reason virtually everbody uses it, especially in my class of humans, about 15 to 18 years of age.
- I think hotmail has lots of nice features, especially when you really want to use MSN and haven't heard of windoze, M$ and MSN.
But, as we know from M$, it has the low-down tactics of giving you no more than 256k of space,
and try to ban other browsers than IE, and many more. Most people really don't want to hear this ....
i don't get it
