The biggest myths about Microsoft are that its desktop products are overpriced, it doesn't respect its customers, and reliability and security are poor. And some think the company is downright evil.
Overpriced : $500 AUS for a fucking office suite that gets made redundant every few years? Even more for an OS that crap?
Respect: Yeah, Microsoft really respected me when they made me ring Redmond to "activate" the OS that came with my first "real" computer. I'm sure they respected my rights when I had to sign away my freedoms on that EULA to even use my new computer. What about paying employees to "dob in" a company which made a mistake in their activation and used Windows on a few more machines than they were "entitiled" to?
Reliability and security are poor: according to Bill they "do their best." Yeah well we've all seen how good their "best" is...
And some think the company is downright evil: Evil no (Nazis were evil, Microsoft is not), but bad yes. They got convicted in a fucking antitrust suit for gods sakes, this is not a "friendly" company. Not to mention the little BSA raids they conduct.
MYTHS MY ARSE. Speaking of which Mr Reviewer can come and kiss it...
