Any product based on the IE engine will keep history/cookies the same way as IE does. Use a mozilla engine based browser to avoid that problem.

Also I find that I can get into hotmail with any browser I choose to use. There is a small problem with group deletion under some browsers but they all work well otherwise.

Opera6 is good and stable, though the v6beta would run low on resources after a couple of hours surfing (with 256Mb in a Win98 box).  It is a free download if you don't mind the banner ads. Opera
