Mozilla is for geeks someone said..
bigsleep:
As a note I'd like to add that Mozilla doesn't come with any plugins.
You can install the spell checker for Moz 1.4 here:
http://spellchecker.mozdev.org/installation.html
And you can see what others you have installed at Netscape:
http://wp.netscape.com/plugins/manager.html
I almost forgot, better plugin info here:
http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/

This is absolutely the most inaccurate thing I've ever read!!! Ok, let's get some facts straight:
1. Mozilla is for everyone! And I really mean everyone. If you don't want to experiment with nightly builds, then you can always go for the stable release.
2. Netscape is DEAD officially, especially since AOL decided to drop any support for it. And when it wasn't dead yet, it was based on Mozilla FYI.
3. Mozilla has been declared by many as the best and easiest browser to use. Just go to http://www.mozilla.org and read excerpts of those reviews there.
4. Mozilla comes with a mail client, so advanced that it puts other mail clients to shame. Enriched with advanced anti-spam capabilities, Mozilla Mail is a must-have for anyone who respects his/her privacy.
5. Mozilla has excellent standards support.
6. Mozilla is Free, Open and absolutely and totally tweakable. Tweak it as much as your heart desires.
7. Mozilla comes with countless extensions and themes. Wanna try some? Go to http://extensionroom.mozdev.org
8. Last, but certainly not least, Mozilla is infinitely more secure than that virus trap IE.
Gimme a break here and don't make me post things that you could have found out for yourselves!

Netscape is NOT dead.
Perhaps you are thinking of Netscape Communicator, which has been officially dead for about 3 years now and was purchased by SUN.
Netscape 7.1 uses the Gecko engine based on Mozilla 1.4 and is fully supported.

That's what I was referring to. Even if Netscape is NOT officially dead, why go with a browser that will always be one step behind Mozilla?

Ah, OK, I hadn't seen that. But I'm sure they are doing that because of the formation of the Mozilla Foundation, which is a good thing to pull the AOL influence out of the Mozilla project.
AOL is still supporting Mozilla as are several other companies, see this:
http://media.aoltimewarner.com/media/press_view.cfm?release_num=55253270
which is dated on the same day as the link you posted (interesting, huh?).
Why someone would want to use Netscape? It comes with all the plug-ins already installed and they do offer support - even though they charge for the live support (through another company). And they did finally catch up, they are using the current stable release - 1.4. I usually only install the stable Mozilla release myself.
AOL does seem to have little interest in Netscape (maybe it's too tuff to influence the Moz developers their way), and Netscape's getting more and more redundant. The spell checker's now included in Moz 1.5 and there's a good plug-in site at MozDev, and there's MozChat which works pretty good for support help, actually.
Mozilla Foundation is looking better all the time.
AOL's gonna sink on the same ship as MS anyway.
Oh, I forgot about Netscape Enterprise Server, which was taken over by Sun and renamed to iPlanet Web Server then to Sun ONE Web Server. So perhaps Sun will adopt Netscape Gecko as well?
