You should try it. I recommend Mandrake again, because they have a kernel that's actually stable, and they didn't modify it to suck  :rolleyes:

my moms putting together a spec list for my computer but says i need to have a windows os on my system (for miscrosoft powerpoint and stuff) but i dont want it on there. but she insists i should have it for my school work. isnt there a program that allows u you use Linux and powerpoint ? or a program just like powerpoint for linx, that can run on comptuer with windows?


*im not really comptuer smart so i dun know*

Well, Powerpoint itself doesn't have a Linux version.  It's possible to run the Windows Powerpoint in Linux with Wine, but that's not so great.  Then there's other software like OpenOffice which has a Linux version.  I've tried it's powerpoint importing/exporting, and it seems to work.

and once you get linux running great. you will soon learn to have fun making things freebsd work and work well. and making them do things they really shouldn't.if one of you out of dmca's reach people wanna host it. i could whip up a mean native jdk package for fbsd.

now for linux distro's fedora core is nice, mandreck i mean mandrake is acceptiable, suse should be decent.

I want a nForce motherboard and a GeForce videocard.

Those two are the best for Linux.
