Whether you love or hate MS, you have to admit that the new Windows Media Player 8 sets the new standard: for spyware.  Good job microsoft!

besides, I thought musiccity kazaa held that title!

Debugging? Klingons do not debug. Our software does not coddle the weak.

Yeah you really got me. I use XP and about 10 other MS products. I had decided to tell all my clients that they had to change over to linux and staroffice or I would stop working for them..but i had some afterthoughts after i figured they would tell me to fuck off in no uncertain terms.

Besides, how can you hate microsoft if you aren't forced to use their products (yes, i'm forced to use them). To hate microsoft, i mean truly hate microsoft, is to use Windows.

music city kazaa? is that a new product?
music city's morpheus, at least the version i use, is spyware free..kazaa on the other hand is a spyware laden piece of shit that contains both cydoor and gator. different products.

WMP 8 is nice... in that it crashes, the interface is so unbelievably clunky, and there's no given way to play Shoutcast streams. In fact, the only reason I use it is because whenever WinAMP exits under XP, it creates a huge memory leak which ties up 95% of the CPU time. I've patched and updated several times and nothing has fixed it (anyone got a fix? or should I just shoot myself in the head and go looking for some other mp3 player?)

Windows Media Player 8 is great for watching DVD's, MPegs, etc. in full screen especially on a TV because all of the player controls scroll off of the screen where you can't see them until you move your mouse..then the controls pop back up for a few seconds then disappear again after you are done moving your mouse around. I like this because it provides easy navigation without having to see the clutter of the controls throughout the whole movie/video.

Ravuya, this is the fix. Delete Windows XP, then install an older version of Windows. If you are intent on running Winamp, this is the best way to do so that i know of. There's nothing wrong with winamp, it's yr OS that has the problem. That is my humble opinion...

For some reason I don't think that Ravuya knows what he is doing. Winamp 2.78 doesn't cause memory leaks in XP(I know this because I use the damn thing to listen to MP3's and CD Audio). You probably have a virus or you don't know how to check your memory in XP so you come to a forum and claim it leaks.

I mean come'on, you are the same guy who said that you need to read a manual to install hardware in another post.
