If he seeds their market while it's still developing, it might make it harder for Linux to take hold. Maybe they'll be smart and use mainly Linux.

But analysts say it will be tough for Linux to take a strangle-hold in the key software of big firms.

Microsoft cites the ease of use, security and support as key factors that give Windows dominance of personal computers and servers, while Linux still has a small percentage of the global market.

Security?(!)

Just who does he think he's kidding here? These Indians sound like they're pretty tech-savvy:

The cash-strapped federal government has launched a "Linux India Initiative" to use the system in schools and state agencies. "Open source fits perfectly with India's needs," said S. Ramakrishnan, director at India's IT ministry.
I'm sure he's not buying into that "more secure" bullshit. Looks like, once again, His Gatesness is a day late and a dollar short.      :D

India is very tech savvy. There is a huge pool of tech people. You will see a lot of high tech jobs moving out there.
Every day Linux chinks away at Microsoft and every couple of weeks, Microsoft shoots themselves in the foot with a msblast, WORM.
Sleep well America, you know that the Department of Homeland Security is watching out for us using Microsoft FFS !!!
