Ladies and gentlemen who may happen to use Windows, I strongly urge you *never* to use Tabit.  If you do, NEVER buy it.  I have had my own problems with this site, and the lack of service for any OS *other* than Windows is just the beginning.  I have contacted the founder before on the subject of possibly porting this software to other platforms and consistently got the reply that "this software is neither open source nor available on other platforms, nor will it ever be MADE available to 'minority' platforms."  That in and of itself is not  so bad, but it's definitely strike one.

Strike two?  I left the forums for an extended hiatus over a year ago, and returned to find that one of my close friends had revealed my name to a forum member.  What does this member do, instead of keeping it to himself?  He turns around AND POSTS IT FOR EVERYONE TO SEE.  When I finally see it, it's because it has been brought back by a forum troll who CONSISTENTLY denies trolling while posting shit like "you suck donkey balls and that's why I'm right."  I get pissed off because of this, apparently a big forum no-no.  God forbid I should be outraged over somebody spreading my PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION online.  That's only ONE of the reasons why I stopped using Windows in the first place... but what do the moderators do?  Nothing.  Absolutely NOTHING.  So when I report him for this behaviour, I'm now suddenly in the wrong.  One more and you're out...

Strike three and game: the moderators decide I'm not worth their time, and at my behest, ban me from the forums.  Actually, I believe my exact words were, "if you REALLY believe that he's right and I'm wrong, then go ahead and ban me because I don't want to be here anyway."  So I get banned.  I take some time to calm down from this outrageous behaviour, and actually manage to make amends with one of the moderators.  I keep my ban in place because God forbid I should become emotional in a PUBLIC forum, someone might browbeat me to death.  So today I ask TWO simple fucking questions, "is anything of relevance happening with the product," and "is anything similar available for another OS yet" and what do I get back?  "Look for yourself."  Like I'm some kind of idiot that doesn't know how to Google this shit.  So I get pissed at him, and he blocks me for EXPRESSING MY OPINION ON THE MATTER like the pissant he really is.

My apologies for venting my frustration in here, but if I don't do it here I swear I'm gonna break something.  It's PRECISELY this kind of shit that I *don't* want to see happen to the forum here, and PRECISELY why I left their boards in the first place.

Wow. A right bunch of uptight people they are. I'll be sure to never use, let alone buy their stuff.

Mac users should never need to use that. Garageband is much better than Tabit (at least from what I hear), and comes for free with new Macs.

BTW, this should go in the Applications forum, so I'm moving this.
