N64 / GCN(Pana Q)

Im still puzzled by how the N64 was not accepted by so many people.....as far as Im concerned the best games Ive ever played were on that system. Here are three N64 games that I believe revolutionized gaming:

- Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time (arguably the best game ever created.)
- Super Mario 64 (you may not like Mario himself but f#%k was that a revolutionary game or what!? It was made in 1995 for f#%ks sake!)
- GoldenEye (another revolutionary game)

I would say GCN is my favourite console but these three games above always outweigh it....and as always..its the games that make a console good.

GCN does have some killer games though....Wind Waker and Metroid Prime would have to be two of the best games Ive ever played....they are just as influential as the three games above.

I really like the GameCube.  It has a processor a bunch like the G4 and mine performs just awesome.  I'd have to say that's the best console without question.
If Microsoft made food, it would all be poisioned.  If Microsoft made cars, we'd all be in rehab recoving from wrecks.  Why do we allow them to design our Operating System???

The N64 failed because of lack of 3rd patry support. All those games you mentioned were 1st or 2nd party developers.

Here's my order:

Gamecube
Linux (there are a LOT of *great* games for Linux)
PS2
SNES/NES (nostalgia)
Xbox (Halo and UT)

My favorite games currently:
Zelda: Wind Waker (GCN)(amazing game)
Metroid Prime (GCN)(graphically BEAUTIFUL)
Cube(Linux) (VERY fast and it's open source too)
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (Linux)(Great team play)
Tribes 2 Aerial Assault (PS2/online) (addictive)
UT2k3 (Xbox) (because i dont have the linux version)
Halo (Xbox) (team coop play is very fun)

All-time favorites (in order)
Zelda: Link to the Past (SNES)(THE BEST)
Zelda: Ocarina Of Time (N64/GCN)
Metroid 2 (SNES/GB)
Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
Goldeneye (hard to play now, its so slow!!!)
Final Fantasy 7

I'm a Nintendo person. And don't tell me we have kiddy games because most non-exclusive titles on Xbox or PS2 are on GCN.

Edit: changed all GCX's to GCN's because I forgot what the abbrev. was

I guess we could consider the Wintel a game console. That's all it's good for.

Yes, I know that the Xbox runs a modified version of Windoze. That's why you get GSODs. I have never tried the Xbox, though, and probably never will.

GSODs... is that "Green Screen Of Death"?

As for myself, I'm not a huge fan of consoles... All I remember is this pretty old one that I played "Bonk's Revenge" on when I was little. That, in my mind, makes it the best console ever.

I can't put these pictures here because of some weird characters in the url

I am definitely a satisfied GCN owner.

I like the portability of the system, as well as the connectivity with the GBA (I'm not talking about the cable, either. I mean the GBA Player). The controller is also a winner with me. IMO it definitely beats the standard Xbox and PS2 pads in terms of button layout and comfort, althought I admit that the "s" pads for the Xbox aren't so bad.

I have almost 20 games for the system, which is about all I have had time to play, and every single one has been great. I realize that a number of them are available for the PS2 and/or the Xbox as well, but then again, the majority of them aren't. A good example is how, last Christmas, Splinter Cell and Metroid Prime were the two hottest console games. Now, GCN owners can play both, while Xbox owners still only have Spliter Cell.

Now that I've made myself sound like a complete fanboy, I will say that if I had a lot more time (money isn't so much the issue...well, it is, but no to the extent time is!) I would buy and play all three systems. However, given the current restrictions on my resources and the style of games that I prefer to play, the GameCube has definitely proven to be a satisfactory purchase for me.
