I bet the XBox is at least 3 times what those walmart special Linux computers are. The XBox uses a 733mhz Intel(I think PIII) CPU. A NVidia GFX chipset and a modern PIII chipset that runs in at least ATA66(maybe ATA100).

Those Walmart specials run on a shitty, outdated ATA33 only chipset. If I remember correctly, they use a Via C3 CPU(a 1ghz C3 is slower than a 500mhz Celeron PPGA/Pentium 2 core) and the video card is not anywhere near the performance of a GeForce 3+(like the XBox's NVidia card).

If it were my desicion I'd go for the XBox.

Fair enough for the processor, but I doubt the graphic card is much of an issue when it comes to clusters.

Good point.

but hey, just think... you got a cluster going, and you wanna bust out with some DOA3 (the real game, not cheesy X-TREME VOLLEYBALL) or some STAR WARS you can fire it up.

see, that's why the Ecks Baachs is decent, because it has a STAR WARS GAME.

Even MS can't keep dudes from STAR WARS
