Why?!?
« on: 3 October 2002, 00:53 »
When I was 10 year, do I think Microsoft was great!
When I was 14 year, I was starting to think, and then I was hating Microsoft.
And now have they bougth RareWare, something I REALLY HATE! Why? Starfox will be the last game to Gamecube. Thats too bad! I hate it! Hate it!

I will NEVER buy Xbox! And thats just I don't want to pay Microsoft money! Never!

Yeah, thats my meaning! :(

With regard to the Xbox, don't MS make a loss on those even when they were selling for full price?

In the UK now instead of being

Windows ME didn't let you control your own computer much, but you where free to buy Nero Burning ROM and put your mp3's on CD.

Then Windows XP came out. It had more options, letting you think you had more control over your PC.
But that isn't the case at all. If you refuse to pay for a minor operating system (Windows XP), and can't get the right serial code, you are locked out of your own PC after a short period.

And with the update of Windows XP, called "Windows XP SP1", it's made harder for you to burn mp3's, because IMAP which is needed to burn CD-ROM's is disabled. Someone not knowing Windows well, doesn't know how to turn on IMAP. It let's people getting used to the idea of not burning mp3's on CD-ROM's when using Windows XP.

Windows XP 2 will most likely shud down the ability to burn mp3's on a CD-ROM.

AMD and Intel are making TCPA chips right now to disable "unauthorized" programmes. Unauthorized means, something Microsoft doesn't like. You will be running Windows XP, Windows .NET or Windows Longhorn only on the latest AMD and Intel chips.

Conclusion: Everyone who thinks Microsoft is cool, and like to burn CD-ROM's or DVD's should really think twice before thinking "Windows is so cool".

Yes agreed...what Microsoft did to Rare affected me persoannly. No more Donkey Kong Country  :( . And yes...I never bought an X-Box. I told my parents no and almost yelled at them for suggesting. I heard a few rumors it has been scratching/damaging CDs. Pffft. The microsoft way!

Two questions:

1) IMAP, as in the mail protocol, or does it also mean something else?

2)  Can you use third party burning software in XP?

IMAP the CD Burning service(I think it is IMAPI actually). And yes you can use 3rd party programs in XP. I burn MP3 and Audio CD's(from MP3's) all the time with Nero Burning Rom. You can use Easy CD Creator 5 and any other 3rd party burning progrm in XP too. XP SP1 does not disable CD burning services.

Once again people make untrue statements about Windows.
